1. Simple Past: An action that ended at a point in the past. (verb + ed) Eg. jumped, ended, finished
     Eg. The horse jumped over the fence. The show ended on time. She finished her homework.

2.  Simple Present: An action that exists, is usual, or is repeated. Eg. jump, play, begin
     Eg. John likes to jump.   I like to play golf.   What time does class begin?

3.  Simple Future: A plan for future action. (will + verb) Eg. will jump, will win, will march
     Eg. Jane will jump after John.   We will win the game tonight.   The people will vote next month.

4. Progressive Past: An action was happening when another action happened. Eg. was shouting, were fishing
     Eg. John was shouting at his boss.   We were fishing until it got dark.

5. Progressive Present: An action that is happening now. Formed using the verb "to be" and ends with "ing".
    Eg. am jumping / is jumping / are jumping
     Eg. Am I jumping next?   John is jumping next.   You are jumping next.

6. Progressive Future: An action that will be happening over time, in the future, or when something else happens.
     (will + to be + verb ending with ing.)
      Eg. will be jumping   Who will be jumping next?   I will be working late tonight.   The bus will be coming soon.

7. Perfect  Past: An action that ended before another action or time in the past. (had + verb ending in ed)
     Eg. had cooked   Jane had cooked the entire day. They had lived in Alberta before moving here.

8. Perfect Present: An action that happened at an unspecified time in the past. (have/has + verb ending in "ed")
    Eg. has / have cooked  She should have cooked dinner by now.  She has prepared the meals every day.

9. Perfect Future: An action that will end before another action or time in the future. (will + have + verb ending in "ed")
   Eg. will have jumped   You will have finished by then.   Jane will have completed grade 10 this year.

10. Perfect Progressive Past: An action that happened over time, in the past, before another time or action in the
      past. (had + been + verb ending in "ing")
     Eg. had been jumping     Jane had been jumping all day.   We had been walking all day.

11. Perfect Progressive Present: An action occurring over time that started in the past and continues into the present.
        (has or have + been + verb ending in ing)   Eg. has / have been swimming   John has been swimming all day.

12. Perfect Progressive Future: An action occurring over time, in the future, before another action or time in the
      future.  (will + have + been + verb ending in ing)  Eg. will have been studying
